Anna Silk is a Fredericton native and the child of Peter Silk, who was an academic. The mother of her, Ilkay Silk, had a diverse range of talents, including being able perform, direct production, create plays, teach, and be Director of Drama for St. Thomas University. Anna was born in Fredericton, the daughter of Ilkay Silk and Peter Silk. Her mother is an "English-Turkish Cypriot expat" that is originally from Britain. Anna remembers attending performances for her productions as a young girl as well as watching her mother at work. While still a small kid, she made the rounds in various commercials. In November 1999, Anna made the move to Toronto to advance her acting career. She eventually making the move to Los Angeles, California, within the next decade. Anna was introduced to Seth Cooperman in 2007 at an actors' workshop held in Los Angeles, and they got engaged in the year 2009. The couple was married in a civil ceremony that ended in December. They they renewed their vows at a Jewish wedding ceremony held in Fredericton on April 11, 2011 after Anna's conversion to Judaism.
