Anita Saarkessian

Anita Sarkeesian has been a Canadian and American feminist media analyst for more than twenty years. She's also an accomplished public speaker. She is the founder of Feminist Frequency which provides commentary and videos on the representation of women in pop cultural. Anita Sarkeesian was a Canadian and American feminist media critique. Feminist Frequency, a website dedicated to education, which examines women's roles in pop culture narratives It is the brainchild of Anita Sarkeesian. Additionally, she serves as the executive director. She's determined to dismantle stereotypes of women as they are portrayed in popular culture. Additionally she aims to create awareness of online harassment directed at women and the marginalized communities of people. Sarkeesian also holds a York University master's in social theological, philosophical and political thought. Apart from being a well-known public speaker, she's given presentations at TEDxWomen The XOXO Conference as well as the United Nations Broadband Working Group. As a university student she became fascinated by the issue of gender identity and women's rights at an early stage. A woman with ambitions to create a web series that examined the gender representation of video games was targeted by an internet-based campaign. But the harassment did not dissuade her. She was only able to strengthen her position as a journalist who is feminist. She is a recipient of several awards for her contributions to feminism. Anita Sarkeesian has been a media critic for several years and founded Feminist Frequency. This non-profit educational organization studies women's roles within the popular culture stories.
